Britta’s writing appears in The Common, Flash Fiction Magazine, Bending Genres Journal, Necessary Fiction, On The Seawall, Marin Independent Journal and other publications. She was a finalist for the Bellingham Review Tobias Wolff Award for Fiction. She is a member of the National Book Critics Circle, SF Writer’s Grotto, PEN, and a Committee Member for Litquake. She has been a frequent reader for the Firecracker Awards and reads for Flash Fiction Magazine. A former editor for Tuxedo Literature & Arts Journal & FastForward Magazine, Britta has authored award-winning children’s books. She’s a member of the National Book Critics Circle and holds an MFA from Dominican University, CA, an M.A. from American University, and a Certificate in Novel Writing from Stanford University.

Her nonfiction articles and essays have appeared in variety of print and online magazines & journals including OCWW’s About Write, Marin Independent Journal, & Marin Mother’s Magazine. She has interviewed a variety of authors and business leaders, including Ruta Sepetys,  Premal Shah (co-founder of Kiva.org) and Stedman Graham. Britta’s is a teaching artist at Marin School of the Arts, CA. She is currently working on a  novel and a collection of personal essays. When Britta is not dreaming, drafting or discovering new characters, she enjoys time with her family, horseback riding, and reading picture books, fantastic middle-grade adventures, and social justice YA novels with her kids.
